A bit of context: I had become extremely burnt out by life in general because of my real job back in 2014, to the point where I no longer wanted to bother with anything truly creative other than a random sketch or something lazy due to lack of time. Since then, there have been some bursts of creativity but nothing worth sharing here, certainly.
Then, in 2016, I was asked to recreate a low-res logo for an akita rescue group my family had gotten their last 3 dogs from. That then turned into a regular bit of volunteering FB banner art for them every month since mid-2016 which has since become zazzle merchandise to support them financilly.
I didn't spend too much time on them except on certain occasions but the reactions were always positive, even on the "lazy" ones, which was surprising.
Then came this year's Lent. I wasn't interested in giving up something but I heard about maybe doing something daily instead. So I started drawing again. The time away became very apparent to me, skill-wise and I wasn't happy with what I was producing.
But I still got positive feedback. Which was weird.
They say you're often your toughest critic. Then maybe I'm like Gordon Ramsay surprise-judging someone on 'Worst Cooks in America' when they weren't even coming something to be judged...
Well... that's why I'm here again.
I'll be posting stuff I recently did either on paper with pens and pencils or stuff I've created on my Galaxy Tab 12.2 using ibis Paint (still grasping that). I'll also be posting some of those akita FB banners, too. It's not going to be pretty, warning you in advance, and some of those are going to involve nudes (hide the kids) since I can because I like that stuff and it instinctively pushes me a bit to spend more effort on them.
Let's see what happens...
